Astronomy in Cahirciveen
Astronomy is the
oldest science known to
mankind and in these days
of internet access, fair
priced telescopes and
on-line telescopes,
Astro-photography etc etc
etc, there is no excuse
in not knowing anything
about the Stars above
your head.
With its vast hilltops
and areas of countryside
free from light
pollution, Co. Kerry is
perfect for those with an
interest in what's
going on in the skies
above us.
The South Kerry Astronomy
Group is based in the
Basement of the
Caherciveen Barracks and
meets every second
Thursday at 7.30PM but
have a few other meeting
in between.
Membership is open to
everyone regardless of
age or circumstances and
a knowledge of astronomy
is not required ... so
why not give it a go!
Tourist enquiries are
welcomed and special sky
tours with an
introduction to astronomy
can be arranged.
