Boat Trips around Kerry

These are just a few of the boat trips offered in Co. Kerry - get exploring!

Ring of Kerry - Valentia Harbour Tours
Along the Ring of Kerry you'll find one of the most unusual modes of transport in Ireland. When you see this vehicle you’d wonder is it a boat or a bus? Well, it’s actually both. It’s what they call ‘an amphibious craft’ that can travel on land or water.

Tommy O’Connell is the man that came up with the great idea for this craft and he runs trips from Cahersiveen marina around Valentia Harbour. Because it’s got wheels the ‘boat’ can land on Beginish Island and you can get off and see the remains of the Viking settlement or go to Valentia island for lunch or a coffee. You also get up close to the monastic settlement on Church Island. There are also colouring books for the kids.

The all-weather boat can take up to 48 passengers and Tommy guarantees me that seasickness in not a problem.

Dingle Harbour Cruise

Take the family on a one hour guided cruise of Dingle Harbour. Learn about the local maritime history, the era of the landlords, the famine and Dingle's historical connections to Spain and France.

Listen to your tour guides as they alternate between facts and foklore of a modern generation to times long past. From Lord Ventry and a lost fishing village, to Marie Antoinette and hidden passageways, this tour is sure to surprise and delight all onboard.

Don't forget to keep an eye out for "Fungie" our resident dolphin at the entrance to the harbour!

Kenmare Bay Eco-Tour
Seafari cruises invite you to explore the prolific wildlife of Kenmare Bay on Ireland's premier seal-watching and eco-nature cruise. Travel from the picturesque Kenmare Pier into the magical and tranquil waters of Kenmare Bay in a comfortable and sheltered passenger vessel.

See one of the largest seal colonies in Ireland with over 300 of these beautiful creatures. Look out for secret castles and playful otters as well as a wealth of bird-life along the way. Seafari's knowledgeable Captain and informative guides will show you the historical sites and explain how the ice age has shaped this beautiful bay.

Observe Ireland's largest and most spectacular seal colony close-up and see if you can spot Kathleen, a stunning seal with a red coat who is rumoured to be a selkie, a seal which was once human according to legend.

Humour and fun are part of a Seafari cruise and whilst the boat is not often rocked by waves in the calm waters of the bay, it is frequently rocked by laughter! Seafari's family-run cruise offers something for all ages with Sally the Seal and her friends taking part in the commentary.

Tea, coffee, squash and biscuits are offered on all cruises and for those feeling a nip in the air there is a medicinal shot of rum.
