Horse Racing in Tralee Sunday March 18th

Horseracing fans
are in for an extra treat
in Kerry this weekend
with racing due to return
to Tralee's
Ballybeggan Park on
Sunday March 18th at
2pm.
The six race North
Kerry Harriers Point to
Point card kicks off from
2pm and 70 horses are
expected to compete for a
total prize pot of
€10,000.
There'll also
be plenty of
entertainment for
families with free
activities including face
painting, bouncing
castles, pony rides,
stilt walkers, zorbing
and music by Emerald
Elvis among the
attractions.
There will also be
prizes for the best
dressed lady, gent and
mother and daughter
too.
The event will have
a full bar, catering
facilities and bookmakers
will also be in
attendance with admission
costing €8 for
adults and free for
children.
The days racing has
been sponsored by Lee
Strand and General
Manager John
O'sullivan said he
was delighted to help
bring racing back to
Ballybeggan.
Ballybeggan
racecourse has a very
proud history and some of
the greatest race horses
to ever grace the sport
won their maiden races at
Ballybeggan.
Dawn Run won her
bumper in Ballybeggan in
1982, Dermot Weld's
Vintage Crop won the
Carling Gold Cup here in
1992 before going on to
win the Melbourne Cup and
Aidan O' Brien first
Derby winner Alexandrova
had his maiden win at the
course.
