January 25, 2012
There
was some good news for
those in Kerry's
tourism sector with the
revelation that visitor
numbers to Ireland
increased significantly
last year.
The
Central Statistics Office
reports that trips
to Ireland increased
by 6.8 per cent between
January and November
2011.
2011
saw the first significant
growth in visits
to Ireland since 2007
thanks to the strong
recovery in tourism seen
over the first three
quarters of
2011.
Between
January and November,
visits from Great Britain
rose by 5.4 per cent from
North America by 5.6 per
cent, from other European
countries by 8.5 per
cent, and from other
countries by 10.2 per
cent.
This
is very encouraging news
for the 2012 season just
around the corner, there
is great value here in
Kerry for tourists,
hotels and B&B's
are offering excellent
value and restaurants in
Kerry also have great
value on offer, the
tourism sector is vital
to the economy here in
Kerry and lets hope for a
strong 2012.
