Portmagee is Ireland's first National Tourism Town

Failte Ireland recently announced that Portmagee was the
first ever winner of the National Tourism Towns Awards. The
County Kerry village was chosen from a shortlist of ten top
tourism towns – the remainder receiving
certificates of merit to acknowledge their own performances. |

Two Irish locations have made it into National
Geographic’s list of the world’s Top 101 most scenic
drives.
The first is no great surprise, the Ring of Kerry which is
ranked 57th best scenic drive in the world. (Number 1 is the
Cape Breton drive in Canada.) |

Now in its third year, the Valentia Island King Scallop
Festival is a showcase of both the unique King Scallop which
is sourced locally and also Valentia Island as a holiday
destination for families. The island is situated on the
Iveragh Peninsula in South West Kerry just off the main Ring
of Kerry route which makes it one of Ireland's best kept
secrets.

Kenmare to host Today FM show - 9th - 13th July 2013

From Monday 9th of July - Friday 13th of July, Today FM
broadcasters will go on air live from one of the five
winning destinations as voted by listeners. With over 4,500
votes, Kerry was selected as one of the destinations and
Kenmare is the chosen town. Ray Foley will travel to Kenmare
ahead of the Food Carnival on Thursday 12th July |
